Vietnam’s textile & apparel exports reached US$ 3.5 billion in January 2026, marking a 12.5% year-on-year increase and slight month-on-month growth, outperforming overall merchandise export growth.

Strong demand from the U.S., rising EU orders for sustainable products, and deeper RCEP integration boosted shipments to Japan, South Korea, and Australia.

Upgraded upstream capacity in fibers, yarns, and fabrics, along with larger and long-term global brand orders, strengthened supply chain competitiveness.

Government push for Industry 4.0, automation, smart manufacturing, and green production supported export expansion despite competition from Bangladesh and Indonesia.

With this solid January 2026 performance, VITAS remains cautiously optimistic for Q1 2026, targeting steady growth momentum for the year.
