Surat Textile Processing Units to Shut Two Days a Week
Textile processing units in Surat will remain closed for two days each week due to rising coal prices, supply shortages, and weak demand.
The decision was taken by the South Gujarat Textile Processors Association (SGTPA) to control operational losses.
Around 425 mills across Kadodara, Pandesara, Sachin, and Palsana will follow staggered shutdowns.
Industry leaders say rising coal and chemical costs are putting heavy pressure on processing units.
