Italy's Textile Machinery Orders Fall 36% in Q4 2025

Italian textile machinery orders dropped 36% YoY in Q4 2025, with domestic down 50%, foreign down 34%, and total orders falling 25% QoQ.

The orders index for October–December 2025 stood at 31.5 points (base year 2021=100), including 28.4 points domestically and 31.9 points in foreign markets.

For full-year 2025, order intake dropped 22% overall (-28% domestic and -21% foreign), with backlog covering approximately 2.9 months of production at year-end.

Despite weakness, exports to India rose 46.7% in the first ten months of 2025, making it the leading destination market and offering optimism for stabilisation in early 2026.
