Italy Records €6,037 Million Trade Surplus in December 2025

Italy’s seasonally adjusted exports rose 0.3% MoM and imports increased 0.1% MoM in December 2025, as per Istat.

On a yearly basis, exports grew 4.9% YoY and imports rose 3.4% YoY; exports were up 4.7% to EU and 5.1% to non-EU, while imports rose 7.1% from EU but fell 1.1% from non-EU nations.

On a quarterly basis, exports declined 1.4% QoQ and imports fell 0.2% QoQ in Q4 2025.

In MoM terms, exports to EU fell 1.1% while to non-EU rose 1.9%; imports from EU dropped 3% but from non-EU increased 4.4%.

Italy posted a €6,037 million trade surplus in December 2025, with a €2,447 million EU deficit, €8,484 million non-EU surplus, and €9,792 million surplus excluding energy.
