India Budget 2026-27 Wins CMAI Backing for Textile Reforms

CMAI welcomed Budget 2026–27, calling it a strong push to modernise India’s textile sector and improve global competitiveness.

The Budget announced the National Fibre Mission and Cotton Productivity Mission to boost fibre self-reliance and raise cotton yields.

Support for khadi, handloom and handicrafts, along with cluster modernisation, aims to protect jobs and artisan livelihoods.

Samarth 2.0, sustainability measures, Mega Textile Parks, and customs relief on machinery support skills, green growth and exports.

CMAI said the ₹1,500 crore allocation for the Integrated Textile Programme in FY 2026–27 should be increased further.
