Growth & Shifts in Textile: India Apr-May 2025

India’s Textile & Apparel exports grew 5.36% to $6.180B in Apr–May FY26; apparel up 12.80% to $2.882B, textile down 0.39% to $3.297B.

Cotton yarn, fabrics, made-ups exports fell 1.39% to $1.929B; man-made yarn, fabrics, and made-ups rose 1.41% to $793.27M.

Imports of raw cotton surged 131.30% to $189.18M due to high MSP and import duty; textile yarn, fabrics, and made-ups imports rose 18.92% to $413.81M.

In May 2025, apparel exports rose 11.35%, textile fell 2.71%; carpet exports grew 2.07% to $246.93M.
