Global Duties on China's PET Bottle Chips Exports

In Jan–Nov 2025, China’s PET bottle chip prices averaged 5,950.02 yuan/mt domestically and $778.8/mt FOB Shanghai, down 11.81% and 10.99% YoY.

Price volatility fell to 3.59% (domestic) and 2.8% (export), with H2 prices mainly in the 5,600–6,000 yuan/mt range vs 5,200–6,500 yuan/mt in H1.

Processing margins averaged 386.5 yuan/mt and $78.3/mt, while production hit 16.05 million tons (+13% YoY).

Consumption reached 13.91 million tons (domestic 8.07 mt, exports 5.84 mt), pushing inventory to 3.2 million tons, up 940,000 tons YoY.

Trade barriers tightened: Canada (dumping 100.6%, subsidy 57.4%), Mexico (up to $260/mt), Malaysia (2.29–11.47%), and India raised Wankai’s duty to $40.41/mt.
