Australia Wool Market Rebounds as Prices Rise Across Microns

Australian wool prices rose across all three selling centres, supported by a weaker AUD; clearance improved to 96.7% on 38,736 bales, down 4,846 WoW.

EMI increased 12 cents to 1,677, while WMI rose 19 cents to 1,878; EMI stayed flat in USD but improved in AUD returns.

YoY, EMI is up 462 cents (+38%) in AUD and 417 cents (+54.9%) in USD, per AWI (week 32).

Fine microns (16.5–19) gained 20–30 cents, medium (19.5–24.5) rose 15–20 cents; crossbreds were steady to +10 cents, and Merino Cardings added 10–15 cents.

AWTA data shows wool tested down 20.8% YoY in Jan 2026; Jul 2025–Jan 2026 volumes fell 10.07% to 156.06 m kg from 173.53 m kg.
